چکیده
Abstract This paper presents a numerical study on the effects of microwave irradiation mechanical properties hard rock. More specifically, weakening effect heating induced damage uniaxial compressive and tensile strength granite-like rock is numerically evaluated. Rock fracture modelled by means damage-viscoplasticity model with separate variables for failure types. We develop global solution strategy where electromagnetic problem solved first separately in COMSOL multiphysics software, then provided into staggered implicit method thermo-mechanical problem. The thermal parts are considered as uncoupled due to dominance microwave-induced heat source. performance tested 2D finite element simulations heterogeneous specimens subjected oven compression tension tests. According results, can be significantly reduced pretreatment.

Experimental and Numerical Investigation of Rock Dynamic Fracture
Rapid development of engineering activities expands through a variety of rock engineering processes such as drilling, blasting, mining and mineral processing. These activities require rock dynamic fracture mechanics method to characterize the rock behavior. Dynamic fracture toughness is an important parameter for the analysis of engineering structures under dynamic loading. Several experimental...
متن کاملInorganic Syntheses Assisted by Microwave Heating
This Special Issue on " Inorganic Syntheses Assisted by Microwave Heating " represents one of the few fully dedicated issues on inorganic microwave synthesis published by any international scientific journal and it features five papers and one review article. Microwave irradiation has been used for many years to accelerate chemical reactions. The very first application of 2.45 GHz microwaves in...
متن کاملMicrowave Heating Cavities: Modelling and Analysis
In this paper, cylindrical metallic cavities used in the processes of dielectric materials heating and drying by microwave energy, are discussed. Their mode tuning behaviour under different loading and excitation conditions has been presented. A short review of techniques used for modelling and analysis purposes as well as the numerical results mostly experimentally verified are given.
